This weekend, the Bournemouth Air Festival came to town – which can mean only one thing: it’s time for the legendary Astute Summer Party on the beach! The venue this year was Koh Thai Lounge pop-up venue on the beach between the piers, and with the drinks flowing, the Air Show overhead, bongo rhythms in our ears, and fantastic Thai tapas in our bellies, everyone had a fantastic night.

Astute does Total Wipeout! 60 Astutians gathered early one Sunday morning at New Forest Water Park, ready to take on the UK’s very first Aqua Park. Wetsuits – check. Game faces – check. Dignity left safely at the door – check. Everyone had a fantastic time negotiating the floating, inflatable obstacle course. All that was missing was Richard Hammond’s commentary!

After our successful Mufti Day in support of The Children’s Society in February, we decided to hold another event this summer – but this time with a twist: Fancy Dress! Not only was there a fun environment and prizes for the best costume, but Astute raised a brilliant £270 to help the charity fight child poverty and neglect throughout the UK. Huge congratulations to Jack, one of our specialists, who as part of Townsend Spartans, came in as runners-up in the semi-pro The Bournemouth Beach Soccer Championships this month. In one of their Group Stage matches they won 9-0, and progressed smoothly to the final, where they faced Portsmouth Beach Soccer (featuring England beach soccer internationals), who won the day 4-0 before going on to the overall tournament champions game, where they were beaten by Eastleigh Spitfires. Incredible resul

10 Astute employees made the trip to Brownsea Open Air Theatre to watch The Tempest last week. What a great setting and performance! Congratulations to Gareth for a fantastic leading role performance as Prospero, the Duke of Milan.

We know you can’t actually give 110% effort. You can only give 100%. But when you do give it 100% as a team, that’s when all the individual 100%’s add up to 110% results over target. That is just what our Closed Business Sales team managed, and here they are giving another 100% to the celebration that followed at Vodka Revolution Bournemouth.

Astute has donated £300 to a great project being undertaken by one of our clients, Jay Dyer from EE, who is cycling from London to Paris to raise money for a superb charity called Set4Life UK – Children’s Education which works with schools in war torn Sierra Leone. Jay and his team will be cycling for more than 310 miles over 3 days and are hoping to raise enough money to be able to purchase necessary learning materials, recruit two…

Here is our IT team saying farewell to Mattes on the last day of his internship, with Caribbean food atTurtle Bay in Bournemouth. As a special surprise, the team bumped into our ex-IT Manager, Niall, who decided to come along too. It’s always nice to see old friends, and we hope we will be seeing Mattes again in future too.

After a second, devastating earthquake hit Nepal, Astute’s mufti collection of £400 has been donated to Education & Health Nepal. Knowing the charity’s Director, who is in Nepal right now helping with all their rebuilding efforts, we know that every penny will be going to help EHN rebuild schools and vital services in the country’s poorest areas, which are among the hardest-hit following the earthquakes. If you are interested in helping EHN in other ways please visit http://ehn-nepal.org/ehn-uk/

The first rule of Table Wars is, you don’t talk about Table Wars… unless you’re part of the winning team. Then you shout about your victory and celebrate with lots of booze for the weekend. Barbie’s Soldiers, pictured here with their loot, won in handsome style, with 24 sales across three days between the five of them. Cheers!

Everyone at Astute is extremely happy to be working with a brand new web hosting client, providing them with an innovative Cost-Per-Sale service for their key online products. Perhaps no-one is happier than Adrian, pictured here with his £100 incentive for the first sale of the campaign.
